A: You will need to have a DSL enabled telephone line, a modem / router and an Afrihost ADSL account.
Q: Can I install DSL on a prepaid telephone line?

ADSL service is only supported on an account with a monthly subscription from Telkom.
Q: Is my telephone line enabled for DSL service already?
A: Please contact Telkom customer services to confirm.
Q: Do I need to have a separate telephone line to have Afrihost ADSL?
A: ADSL allows you to share an Afrihost high speed internet connection & your voice calls over the same phisical telephone line.
Q: Do I have DSL service in my area?
A: Please click on this here to verify whether your exchange offers DSL service.
Q: Can Afrihost make my telephone line line DSL ready?
A: Unfortunately this can only be done by Telkom.
Q: Will I get an email account with my ADSL subscription?
A: Afrihost will provide you with your very own email address @afrihost.co.za.
Q: Where can I see my ADSL bandwidth usage?
A: Your bandwidth usage is available through your Afrihost Client Zone. The web address is https://clientzone.afrihost.com.
Q: How long does it take for my ADSL service to be active after I signup?
A: Afrihost will activate your ADSL account within 24hours of your signup.
Q: Can I use my ADSL connection & use my telephone at the same time?
A: One of the biggest advantages of ADSL is that you can remain connected to the internet 24/7 without loosing any calls.ADSL supports both voice & data simultaneously.

Q: What DSL line speed do I need, 384Kbps, 512Kbps or 4Mbps?
A: The speeds above refer to how fast you will download data from the internet. We recommend the 384Kbps for home users, the 512Kbps for small businesses with a few Internet users & the 4Mbps for larger businesses.
